SCHENKER VISION 14: The world's lightest and thinnest 14-inch ultrabook with i7-12700H, optional 99-Wh battery and RTX 3050 Ti
Leipzig, 4th August 2022
Schenker Technologies presents the SCHENKER VISION 14 with a significant performance upgrade. In the E22 version of the slim magnesium ultrabook, Intel’s 14 Core i7-12700H replaces the previously used 4 core Tiger Lake CPU. In addition, the 14-inch powerhouse gets an optional 99-Wh battery and is available not only in black but also silver. Additional features include a 16:10 display with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels, socketed (and thus upgradeable) RAM modules and M.2 SSDs, and the choice between integrated Intel Xe graphics or a significantly higher-performance Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 Ti. Depending on the configured battery option, it is extremely light weight at only 1.1 to 1.3 kg.
The lightest and thinnest 14-inch ultrabook with a 14-core processor
At the heart of the new SCHENKER VISION 14 is Intel’s Core i7-12700H with 6 performance and 8 efficiency cores and 20 threads. With a weight of 1.1 to 1.3 kg and its 308.8 x 215 x 13.6 to 15.6 mm AZ91D magnesium chassis, it is currently the lightest and slimmest ultrabook with a 14-core CPU – regardless of whether it is equipped with integrated Intel Xe Graphics or with Nvidia’s significantly faster GeForce RTX 3050 Ti effciency-focused version (with a TGP of 45 watts – 35 watts plus 10 watts Dynamic Boost 2.0). This makes the ultraportable laptop not only a strong office and all-round device, but also suitable for more demanding tasks in the field of mobile image and video editing.
Despite the very slim laptop design, the Core i7-12700H maintains a TDP of 40 watts even under continuous Prime95 load. Due to the higher number of cores and threads as well as high boost clocks, the performance increase compared to the i7-11370H from the predecessor model is significant with a gain of around 40 percent: In the highest setting (overboost with maximum fan settings), the 14-core CPU wins in Cinebench R23 with 9093 to 6534 points. Among other things, this is made possible by an optimised cooling system with dual-fan solution (both for the version with Intel Xe and Nvidia RTX graphics) and the use of liquid metal thermal compound on the CPU. Even in battery mode, the ultrabook is able to maintain very high CPU performance levels.
The lightest and thinnest 14-inch Ultrabook with a 99 Wh battery
SCHENKER offers the VISION 14 with two configurable battery options: The smaller and lighter 53 Wh model is available exclusively in combination with the RTX 3050 Ti. This provides a laptop weight of 1.1 kg and also leaves enough space for two M.2 SSD slots connected via PCI Express 4.0. For improved heat dissipation, the storage drives are connected to the magnesium casing by a heat conduction pad.
With the 99 Wh alternative, which is almost twice as large, one of the two M.2 slots is omitted and the total weight of the laptop increases to 1.3 kg – yet no other 14-inch laptop currently offers a comparable combination of low weight and such high capacity. In this configuration for example, battery runtimes of almost 11 hours are possible during local video playback despite very high image resolution.
Unlike many other ultrabooks, the SSDs of the repair-friendly SCHENKER VISION 14 are slot-in and thus replaceable. The same applies to up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM, which runs in two SO-DIMM slots in dual-channel mode.
Bright, true-colour 3K IPS display in 16:10 format and extensive connectivity
The bright 380 nits, 90 Hz display matches that of the predecessor model, featuring a resolution of 2,880 x 1,800 pixels and a practical 16:10 format. For demanding creative-visual tasks, the IPS panel is factory pre-calibrated and thus covers 99 per cent of the sRGB colour space: the individual ICC colour profiles for each display are available for direct download to the laptop via the Control Centre.
The generous external connectivity for an ultrabook is remarkable: A DisplayPort- and Power Delivery-capable Thunderbolt 4 and USB-C port, two USB-A slots, HDMI, a full-size SD card reader and a 2-in-1 audio port provide a high level of functionality without having to carry a whole bag full of adapters. In addition to the internal display, image output to up to three external monitors is supported. Charging the laptop is possible both via the included 90-watt power supply with barrel plug (129 x 54 x 30 mm, 500 g including power cable) and by using a travel power supply via both USB-C ports.
On the input device side, there is a 13 x 8 cm Microsoft Precision compliant glass touchpad and a neutral white backlit keyboard with FnLock function to permanently assign the F keys their secondary function.
