As a complete implementation of the mobile desktop replacement concept, the 17.3-inch SCHENKER DTR 17 offers the same computing power as a professionally equipped desktop PC in stationary use. Intel’s latest Core generation desktop processors and NVIDIA’s high-performance RTX graphics chips provide a superior performance foundation for the time-efficient execution of demanding multimedia tasks.

In the top configuration, the laptop combines the groundbreaking performance of Intel’s Octacore Core i9-9900K CPU from the desktop area with NVIDIA‘s mobile RTX 2080 graphics unit. In addition, the SCHENKER DTR 17 allows the use of up to 64 GB RAM, several SSDs with fast PCI Express connection and mechanical hard disks.

As a maximum purpose-oriented alternative to the Ultrabooks, which are continuously slimmer in design even in the professional area, but at the same time are increasingly trimmed in terms of connection and performance, the desktop replacement device offers you far more than just the highest possible computing power. Thanks to its wide range of ports, the SCHENKER DTR 17 is in no way inferior to a desktop PC in terms of connectivity. The connection of external monitors and other video, audio or USB peripherals is possible ex works and without the need to purchase additional adapter solutions.

Thanks to its adjustable backlight, the keyboard is easy to read even in poorly lit working environments. Compared to the professional devices of many competitors, the keyboard has an anti-ghosting function, which means that even when several keys are pressed simultaneously, there is no false triggering or misinterpretation of the inputs. A 2.1 sound system enables powerful sound reproduction on the go.


By using Intel’s latest generation of desktop processors, the SCHENKER DTR 17 can for the first time provide the unrestricted computing power of up to eight CPU cores with maximum retrievable clock frequency. The high-end laptop thus masters even the most demanding load scenarios with flying colours. The highest expansion level provides for an Intel Core i9-9990K, whose eight cores can process up to 16 threads in parallel and work with a base clock rate of 3.6 GHz. Depending on the respective load scenario, the maximum achievable Turbo Boost frequency is 5.0 GHz in single-threaded applications.

Intel desktop processors with up to ten cores

Intel’s reliable Socket 1200 platform makes it possible for the first time to accommodate the computing power of up to ten desktop processor cores in a professional laptop, tailored to highly parallelized applications: The top model of the SCHENKER DTR 17 uses the new Intel Core i9-10900K, which is characterized by excellent single- and multi-threading performance.

With a basic clock rate of 3.7 GHz and up to 5.3 GHz using Turbo Boost, the impressively high-performance CPU processes up to 20 threads. Thanks to the excellent cooling system, the notebook is able to permanently call up the maximum possible clock frequencies in the respective load scenario: The processor works without TDP restriction at a full 125 watts.


NVIDIA RTX graphics chips outperform previous generations not only in computing power. At the same time, they offer new AI-based features for image enhancement, groundbreaking raytracing capabilities and Deep Learning Super-Sampling (DLSS). The models below the most powerful version RTX 2080 with 8 GB GDDR6 already offer a lot of performance to support you in special GPU-accelerated applications or for the visualization of demanding VR or AR environments.

Unrestricted high-end graphics performance

The SCHENKER DTR 17 comes with a selection of the fastest mobile graphics chips available. In its most powerful configuration, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER comes into play in the Max-P full configuration and with the maximum possible TGP of 200 watts. The generously dimensioned cooling system again provides the basis for graphics card operation without thermal limitations. GPU-accelerated applications benefit significantly from a substantial performance increase compared to the nominally identical RTX 2080 models in slim notebooks with lower reserves for component cooling.

This performance boost is highly beneficial for a wide range of professional multimedia applications, which can also take advantage of NVIDIA RTX exclusive real-time ray tracing technology. With dedicated tensor cores and the completely revised Deep Learing Super Sampling 2.0 (DLSS 2.0), these graphics cards also accelerate computing processes in the field of artificial intelligence, GPU-based machine learning and neural network training. With the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER and RTX 2070 Refresh, even the two smaller configuration options deliver a convincing performance and are also characterized by a particularly attractive price/performance ratio.


The interior of the SCHENKER DTR 17 offers all conceivable upgrade options. These include not only four SO-DIMM slots for up to 64 GB of RAM, but also two M.2 and 2.5-inch slots for fast SSDs or large-volume hard disks. In contrast to a soldered counterpart, the plugged RAM ensures optimum ease of maintenance and expandability of the device. In addition, the possible SSD and HDD configurations offer maximum flexibility. If desired, the drives can be combined to form a RAID 0 or RAID 1 system.

Extensive memory equipment for demanding data processing

With up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM arranged in four SO-DIMM slots, the SCHENKER DTR 17 holds even large data sets directly in the main memory for the fastest possible processing. The support of XMP profiles enables the optional use of higher clocking high-performance RAM with low latencies. The desktop replacement laptop also includes extensive options for configuration with regard to fast M.2 SSDs. A total of four slots are available here for modern mass storage drives.

In addition, the SCHENKER DTR 17 supports various RAID modes: RAID level 0 distributes the data to two drives by striping and offers the highest data throughput with parallel storage access, while RAID level 1 mirrors all contents redundantly on two drives and maintains data availability in the event of an SSD failure. If at least three M.2 drives are used, they can also be combined into a RAID 5 array, which offers the best possible compromise between increased read speed and improved data availability.


In terms of external connectivity, too, the laptop is in no way inferior to a desktop PC and integrates numerous video and six USB ports – including two USB-C ports, one of which also serves as a Thunderbolt 3 port. Together with the integrated display, two Mini DisplayPorts and an HDMI output allow parallel operation of up to four monitors. An integrated card reader is ideal for fast data exchange, while an additional Ethernet port is provided for use in a wired network.

Wide range of ports at desktop PC level

As an extraordinarily flexible mobile computing solution for use in the most diverse application environments, the SCHENKER DTR 17 impresses with its numerous external ports. These include USB-C 3.2 Gen2x2, three USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports and a Thunderbolt 3 and USB-C 3.2 Gen2 connection, each with its own DisplayPort stream. Additional peripherals for displaying content are connected via an NVIDIA-G-SYNC compatible Mini DisplayPort 1.4 or an HDCP-compatible HDMI 2.0 output. This allows the laptop to control up to three monitors in addition to its own display.

The wired network connection is via a high-throughput 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet connection, while the SCHENKER DTR 17 wirelessly transmits via a WiFi-6 module. The headphone output and microphone input are separate connections, and the microphone input can alternatively transfer an optical S/PDIF signal. The fast data exchange between the laptop and a photo or video camera is achieved via a factory-installed SD card reader, which impresses with an impressive speed thanks to a modern connection via a UHS-III interface.


Depending on the configuration, the SCHENKER DTR 17 uses either a fast Full HD or a high-resolution Ultra HD display. Both are equipped with an IPS panel and guarantee an extraordinarily colour-intensive and high-contrast display. While the Full HD version is particularly smooth in moving content thanks to 144 Hz technology and allows for fatigue-free work for the eyes even in continuous use, the UHD alternative scores with 100% coverage of the sRGB colour space and is therefore recommended for professional image processing. The numerous external video connections allow the use of up to three additional external monitors and thus the parallel operation of a total of four displays.

Perfectly tuned precision displays

The SCHENKER DTR 17 offers creative professionals a tailor-made display solution: The high-resolution UHD display is based on IPS technology with stable viewing angle and combines a high-contrast and colour-intensive display with excellent black values. Users in the field of image and video processing benefit from a remarkably accurate display: The coverage of the Adobe RGB colour space is 100 percent.

Users who do not need an integrated display for 4K content can alternatively use an IPS-based Full HD display, which covers 100 percent of the sRGB colour space. The smaller model also features a fast refresh rate of 240 Hz. Both display options support NVIDIA G-SYNC to synchronize the graphics card and display to eliminate unwanted tearing effects when displaying fast moving images.
